Our staff reserves the right to refuse accommodation to anyone.
The subletting or subletting of the rooms provided by the guest as well as their use for purposes other than accommodation require the prior written consent of the hotel management.
Check-in and check-out
Booked beds/rooms are available for occupancy from 2:00 p.m. on the day of arrival at the earliest. Check-in for reservations is only possible until 6:00 p.m. Please always announce delays by email or telephone. New Year’s Eve excluded. Only bookings paid in full in advance (credit card or bank transfer) are guaranteed, even with check-in after 6 p.m.
On the day of departure, the beds/rooms must be vacated by 11:00 a.m. at the latest. Otherwise, prior agreement with the Hotel (Herberge) staff is necessary. If the time is exceeded, the hotel can charge 50% of the full accommodation price (current daily prices) for the resulting additional expenses or for the additional use of the bed/suite until 4:00 p.m. on the day of departure and 100% of the accommodation price from 4:00 p.m. This can also be booked in advance.
Price and payment conditions
Ootel.com is obliged to provide the beds/rooms booked by the guest/customer and to provide the agreed services. The guest/customer is obliged to pay the hotel’s agreed prices for the bed/room rental and the other services they use. This also applies to the hotel’s services and expenses to third parties arranged by the customer. Ootel.com Berlin is entitled to demand 50% of the total price as advance payment for the booking. Otherwise, the amount of the advance payment must be agreed contractually in advance. The total outstanding amount of the booking must be paid in advance upon arrival. For reservations during trade fairs, public holidays and regional events, a deposit must be paid in full.
Ootel.com Berlin (Metropole) asks the customer to confirm their booking by making a deposit or providing credit card details. If the customer does not fulfill this obligation, Ootel.com Berlin does not guarantee the accommodation.
The prices can also be changed by Ootel.com if the customer agrees with the hotel on subsequent changes to the number of beds/rooms booked, the length of stay and/or other hotel services. The agreed prices include the respective statutory VAT, but not the accommodation tax in the amount of 5% of the total price, if applicable. The accommodation tax is payable locally upon check-in. If the period between conclusion of the contract and fulfillment of the contract exceeds 4 months and the price generally charged by Ootel.com for such services increases, it can increase the contractually agreed price, but by a maximum of 10%.
In the event of late payment, Ootel.com is entitled to charge interest at the usual market rate.
Ootel.com is entitled to demand an appropriate advance payment or security deposit upon or after conclusion of the contract, taking into account the legal provisions for package tours. The amount of the advance payment and the payment dates can be agreed in writing in the contract.
If the guest chooses the “Non-refundable” category, payment of the full booking amount is due immediately upon booking and can be requested by the hotel at any time. The full amount must also be paid in the event of cancellations or no-shows.
Reservation and booking conditions
A reservation request is not a binding reservation or booking. The booking is binding as soon as confirmation is made and a guarantee is provided in the form of advance payment or credit card details. Unless otherwise contractually agreed, the customer is not entitled to the provision of specific rooms or beds. The booked room type will be provided if possible. The final allocation of beds or rooms is based on availability by the hotel management.
When booking the rooms “Hotel room 4 beds”, “Hotel room 6 beds”, “Hotel room 8 beds”, “Hotel room 10 beds” you agree to stay in the rooms with other hotel guests if there are still available beds in the respective rooms. All other rooms are not affected by this rule.
Group reservations
Bookings of ten or more people are considered group reservations. Groups must provide a group leader. For group bookings, a deposit of 50% of the total price is a condition of the contract. The remaining amount must be paid 15 days before arrival. Groups from abroad must transfer 100% of the total amount up to 4 weeks before arrival.
Groups with children and young people must be led by at least one or more accompanying persons, depending on the group size. The accompanying person(s) must be of legal age and have the appropriate authority, stay at Ootel.com and be available all day in case of emergencies.
Cancellation, withdrawal from contract (continued)
Cancellations are only valid if they are confirmed by Ootel.com. Ootel.com must inform the customer of the possibility of withdrawal at the latest when the contract is concluded. The following cancellation periods apply:
a) Unless otherwise agreed, individual reservations can be canceled free of charge up to seven days before arrival. If you cancel from the third day before arrival, 80% of the agreed total price will be charged, up to a maximum of the first three nights. If a deposit has been made, this will be offset. During trade fair periods, cancellation free of charge is possible up to eight days before arrival. If you cancel from the seventh day before arrival, 80% of the agreed total price will be charged, up to a maximum of the first three nights.
An early departure is possible free of charge if this is announced to Ootel.com at least three days in advance. Otherwise, the total price for the additional nights will be charged (maximum three nights).
b) Unless otherwise agreed, group reservations can be canceled free of charge up to 6 weeks before arrival. For cancellations up to 4 weeks before arrival, 50% of the agreed total price will be charged. For cancellations up to 8 days before arrival, 75% of the agreed total price will be charged. For cancellations from the 7th day before arrival or in the event of no-show, 100% of the agreed total price will be charged.
Ootel.com Berlin can cancel reservations for the following reasons:
a) if the deposit was not paid on time,
b) if the customer does not accept the hotel’s terms and conditions,
c) if the customer provides false information about himself or if he does not show up.
If the hotel withdraws with justification, the customer has no right to compensation.
Furthermore, Ootel.com is entitled to withdraw from the contract extraordinarily for objectively justified reasons, for example if force majeure or other circumstances for which the hotel/hostel is not responsible make fulfillment of the contract impossible.
Liability claims
Ootel.com is liable for the care of a prudent businessman. This liability is in the non-typical area of service, but is limited to deficiencies in performance, damage, consequential damage or disruptions that are attributable to intent or gross negligence on the part of the hotel. If disruptions or defects occur in the hotel’s services, Ootel.com will endeavor to remedy the situation if the customer becomes aware of it or if the customer complains.
In order to assert claims for damages, a report must be made to the local police and Ootel.com immediately after the damage occurs. The hotel’s liability is based on the statutory provisions. Valuables, jewelry and cash are not the responsibility of Ootel.com. The customer is liable for this. We recommend taking out appropriate travel insurance in such cases. The customer is liable for damage caused willfully and negligently in and to rooms, furniture, the building and inventory.
Other
Bringing pets with you at Ootel.com is not permitted.
The maximum length of stay is limited to 14 days per guest per calendar year. Tolerated exceedances do not constitute a legal claim. Any wake-up orders, information, letters and goods sent to customers are non-binding.
Changes or additions to the contract, the acceptance of the application or these terms and conditions for hotel/Hostel (Jugendherberge) accommodation must be made in writing and agreed with the hotel management. Unilateral changes or additions by the customer are invalid.
The place of fulfillment and payment is the hotel’s headquarters.
Forgotten items or lost property will be forwarded upon request and at the customer’s expense. Ootel.com agrees to keep lost property for six months.
German law applies. If individual provisions of these general terms and conditions for hotel accommodation are or become ineffective or void, this will not affect the effectiveness of the remaining provisions. Otherwise, the legal regulations apply. The ineffective or unenforceable regulation should be replaced by the effective or feasible regulation that comes closest to the business objective pursued by the contractual partners. The above regulations apply in the event that the contract turns out to be incomplete.
The Ootel.com FriendsCard is only charged with a 10% discount for direct bookings on Ootel.com. Customers who secure through third parties are not entitled to the discount. Cumulative discounts are not granted.
